When we come together – where every voice is heard and everyone knows they belong and matter – we create solutions that launch people into space, support lifesaving care in hospitals, and enable the construction of groundbreaking, world scale production facilities.<br><br><strong>Reimagine What’s Possible <br><br></strong>We are seeking a Maintenance and Service Technician to join our Customer Engineering Team, reporting directly to our Area Maintenance Manager.<br><br>The ideal candidate resides in the Bel Air, MD or Washington DC area.<br><br>This is a residence‑based role involving daily travel to customer sites within approximately a 250‑mile radius.<br><br>You will install, repair, and maintain cryogenic liquid, industrial gas, and process gas supply systems, including pumping, high‑pressure compression, and gas generation equipment. Check out some of our benefits below!<br><br><ul><li>Affordable Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance (day 1 of employment) </li><li>401k with 100% vested company core and match </li><li>Paid Vacation, holidays + sick time </li><li>Paid Parental leave (Up to 8 weeks) </li><li>Backup Child and Adult Care benefit </li><li>Adoption assistance </li><li>Flexible spending accounts (medical, dependent daycare) </li><li>Life Insurance (AD&D- Paid for by Air Products), Supplemental AD&D </li><li>Legal Plan & Identity theft coverage </li><li>EAP (Employee Assistance Program) </li><li>Many more supplemental benefits available <br><br></li></ul><strong>Required Skills / Abilities<br><br></strong><ul><li>Travel daily to our customer sites within approximately a 250‑mile radius.</li><li>Proficiency with tools such as drills/impact drivers, portable grinders, bandsaws, general hand tools, brazing torches, electrical multi meters (including input simulators), and ladders.</li><li>Safety: A strong commitment to safety with priority over production, efficiency, schedule, or external pressures</li><li>Ability to learn, understand, and comply with company safety procedures.</li><li>Safety Work Permits: Experience working as both issuer and receiver.</li><li>Lock Out / Tag Out (LOTO): Knowledge of and compliance with LOTO procedures to ensure safe maintenance conditions.</li><li>Electrical: Comfortable working on de‑energized circuits up to 480V.</li><li>Able to trace and measure voltage/amperage on instrumentation circuits by following elementary loop diagrams and/or via phone support with engineers.</li><li>Understanding of 4–20 mA instrumentation signals and loops.</li><li>Mechanical: Understanding of piping systems, regulators, valves, relief devices, pumps, and compressors.</li><li>Ability to interpret P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams).<br><br></li></ul><strong>Key Job Responsibilities<br><br></strong><ul><li>Service Air Products cryogenic, high‑pressure, and generated gas systems, along with associated equipment, at customer sites throughout the assigned region.</li><li>Occasionally supervise contractors and crane operations.</li><li>Participate in after‑hours and weekend call‑outs as needed; maintain 24/7 availability.</li><li>Utilize company-provided truck, gas card, laptop, truck, uniforms, and tools.</li><li>Travel includes some overnight stays; more frequent during the first six months for training purposes.</li><li>Overnight stays may also be required to support customers outside of your normal territory when needed to support the business.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Minimum Hiring Requirements<br><br></strong><ul><li>A high school diploma or GED is required.</li><li>A Technical degree is preferred but is not required.</li><li>Welding or brazing experience is preferred but is not required.</li><li>Ability to perform tasks such as driving, climbing, lifting, carrying, pushing, tightening, loosening, drilling, sawing, crawling, bending, shoveling, and wrenching.</li><li>Ability to perform work outdoors, year‑round in all weather conditions.</li><li>Effective communication skills to interface with customers, management, sales, and engineering.</li><li>A self‑starter with a strong learning aptitude and desire for professional growth.</li><li>Strong troubleshooting abilities with a big‑picture, diagnostic mindset.</li><li>Comfortable working independently for extended periods of time and, the ability to work well in a collaborative Team.</li><li>Ability to travel.</li><li>Availability to be on call 24/7.</li><li>A valid driver’s license, a good driving record and the ability to maintain a clean MVR are required.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Military Experience<br><br></strong>Machinist Mate, Electrician’s Mate, Electronics Technician, Aircraft Maintenance, Cryogenic Technician.<br><br><strong>Technical Education Or Related Skills<br><br></strong>Process Technology, Electrical Technology, Industrial Systems, Electrical Power & Controls, Electromechanical Technology, HVAC, plumbing, welding, mechanical repair, construction, vehicle or small engine repair, fabricating, crane & rigging, fuel industry, or general maintenance.<br><br>#INDGIG<br><br>Join Air Products, where we proudly value the skills, dedication, and leadership that Veterans bring to the table.
