Qualified Music Teacher - Maternity Cover | Dartford

Simply Education is working with a fantastic secondary school in the Dartford area seeking an enthusiastic and talented Music Teacher to join their Performing Arts Department on a full-time maternity cover contract. The successful teacher will deliver an engaging Music curriculum and help develop students' enthusiasm for music and performance.

🎼 About the Role

Location: Dartford, Kent
Start: January 2027
Contract: Full-time, Maternity Cover
Hours: 32.5 hours per week
Salary: £35,602 - £54,328 FTE / MPS-UPS

You'll be responsible for delivering classroom Music across different Key Stages, creating engaging lessons and encouraging students to develop both their musical ability and a genuine love of the subject. The role would suit someone who is also keen to contribute to Music beyond the classroom and the school's culture of public performance.

🎹 About You

You'll have a genuine passion for Music and Music Education, with experience teaching Music across secondary Key Stages. You'll be confident engaging and motivating students and contributing to the wider Performing Arts department.

You'll also need previous experience working with students with SEN and/or behavioural challenges, with strong classroom and behaviour management skills and the ability to adapt your teaching to meet a range of individual needs.
