Electrical Apprentice
Chase Electric

Location: Pleasanton, CA
Pay: $22 - $33 per hour
Job type: Full-time

About the role
Chase Electric is hiring an entry-level Electrical Apprentice to support our electricians and develop the skills needed for a career in the electrical trade.

You will work under the supervision of a Senior Electrician or Foreman, helping the crew complete installations and other electrical projects safely, efficiently, and to specification. Your primary focus will be learning: building fundamental electrical knowledge, gaining field experience, and progressing through applicable apprenticeship and licensing requirements.

What you’ll do
- Safely handle, organize, and stage tools and materials so the crew is ready to work.
- Assist electricians with wiring, rough-in, equipment placement, and installations as directed.
- Help install boxes, devices, switches, receptacles, conduit, and wiring under appropriate supervision and within your authorized scope.
- Assist with troubleshooting while learning how experienced electricians identify and resolve problems.
- Follow company installation standards, job instructions, and applicable electrical code requirements.
- Protect customer property and keep work areas clean throughout the job.
- Use required personal protective equipment and follow electrical safety procedures.
- Immediately report hazards, near misses, or installation concerns to the Senior Electrician or Foreman. Do not work around unsafe conditions.
- Complete assigned training, accurately log work and training hours, and demonstrate progress toward the next skill level.
- Arrive prepared and on time, communicate professionally, and learn from experienced electricians’ customer interactions.
- Deliver service that earns positive customer feedback and follow company guidelines and platform policies when inviting reviews.

What you’ll learn
- Electrical safety fundamentals and proper use of protective equipment.
- Tool identification, safe use, and care.
- Basic National Electrical Code (NEC) knowledge.
- Wire identification and basic circuitry.
- Installation of boxes, devices, switches, and receptacles.
- Basic conduit and wiring methods.
- Material handling, job-site setup, and cleanup.
- Installation and troubleshooting techniques.
- Company workmanship standards and professional customer service.

What we’re looking for
- A strong interest in becoming an electrician and completing the required training.
- Dependability, punctuality, and a willingness to learn.
- The ability to follow instructions, ask questions, and accept feedback.
- Attention to detail and respect for tools, materials, and customer property.
- A safety-first approach and the judgment to stop and ask for help when unsure.
- Professional communication and the ability to work as part of a crew.
- Willingness to meet applicable apprenticeship, registration, schooling, and licensing requirements.

This is an entry-level role; we do not expect you to arrive with the skills of an experienced electrician.

How success is measured
- Consistent attendance and on-time arrival, excluding excused absences or late arrivals.
- Safe work practices and immediate reporting of hazards, incidents, and near misses.
- Accurate work and training records, with a target of 40 logged apprenticeship hours per full workweek, subject to schedule and applicable program requirements.
- Demonstrated progress in electrical knowledge, tool use, and installation skills.
- Correct completion of assigned tasks under supervision.
- Clean work areas, protected customer property, and positive customer feedback.
