DSD Route Sales

Job Description:

  • Responsible for selling and merchandising a line of quality products at local stores
  • Drive a Smithfield Foods box truck
  • Work Monday through Friday, 50 to 55 hours a week
  • Help customers find what they need and deliver service
  • Check dates on merchandise and arrange products
  • Complete daily paperwork (e.g. DOT logs)
  • Prepare sales invoices for orders obtained
  • Deliver products to customer and stock retail cases
  • Prepare end of day reports of business transactions
  • Maintain daily Department of Transportation logs
  • Maintain daily truck inventory and perform weekly physical inventory
  • Move products throughout the store and remove defective products

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma/GED, required
  • Minimum of 6 months experience in route sales, grocery, warehousing, or delivery, required
  • A valid Driver's License required
  • Valid CDL-B Driver’s License within 90 days of start date
  • Federal Regulations require individuals to be 21 years of age
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, verbal, or schedule form
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced environment
