JOB SUMMARY

The Delivery / Warehouse Specialist is responsible for safe, high-quality white-glove delivery and installation of fine furniture, merchandise receiving and handling, warehouse organization, and general facility and grounds maintenance. This role requires professionalism, attention to detail, and strict adherence to company scheduling and delivery policies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

1. Delivery & Installation

· White-Glove Delivery & Installation: Deliver and install high-end furniture and decorative pieces in clients' residences or out-of-town locations as directed by supervisors.

· One-Person Runs: Execute scheduled small, single-person deliveries efficiently and safely.

· Truck Preparation & Safety: Load delivery trucks directly from delivery tickets; unload returns and incoming freight. Inspect trucks prior to departure to verify all required tools, protective blankets, and equipment are onboard.

· Transit & Vehicle Care: Safely operate company trucks for local and out-of-town routes following all traffic regulations and safety procedures. Maintain a clean, valid driver's license with an insurable driving record.

2. Warehouse Operations & Merchandise Handling

· Merchandise Receiving: Assist in receiving all incoming shipments according to established Policies and Procedures for Receiving Merchandise and incoming memos.

· Unboxing & Inspection: Carefully unbox delivered goods, inspect for condition, and confirm product details.

· Furniture Protection & Staging: Cover furniture with appropriate protective plastic wrap and position items in designated staging/storage areas.

· Warehouse Maintenance & Safety: Maintain strict order in the warehouse. Keep aisles clear and pathways open. Regularly sweep warehouse floors and eliminate trip hazards.

· Loading Dock Management: Keep the dock area clean, organized, and free of trash and debris. Ensure no merchandise is left unattended on the loading dock.

3. Facility & Grounds Maintenance

· Opening & Closing Procedures: Morning: Open front and back gates; place the OPEN sign on the front sidewalk. Evening: Bring the OPEN sign in, lock the showroom front door, and securely lock front and back gates.

· Trash Removal & Cleaning: Perform daily trash collection across the 1st floor, showroom, kitchen, breakrooms, bathrooms, and 1st-floor shop. Clean the shop/Wood Shop area as directed.

· Lighting Maintenance: Monitor building lighting and replace light bulbs as needed across the warehouse, showroom, and general facility.

GENERAL WORKPLACE STANDARDS

· Cell Phone Policy: Personal cell phone use is strictly prohibited during working hours, except during scheduled break periods.

· Team Communication: Maintain active, professional communication with supervisors, Project Managers, and fellow warehouse staff regarding schedules, memos, and deliveries.
